The most popular anime in the world is sharpening its well-honed blades for its most ambitious battle yet: charging towards the conclusion of its epic tale. Demon Slayer: Kimeutsu no Yaiba is ending the series with the Infinity Castle Arc movie trilogy, and Part 1 set a precedent that stunned fans and media moguls alike.
Late this summer, the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Part 1 movie hit theaters worldwide, raking in over $700 million to date and shattering records as the highest-grossing anime movie and international movie of all time.
Infinity Castle 2 is sure to smash even more box office records, as we continue to follow the journey of Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and the rest of the Demon Slayer Corps as they seek to destroy Muzan and eliminate demons from the world forever.

When will Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba: Infinity Castle 2 come out?
With all of the accolades of Infinity Castle 1, fans are already eagerly awaiting the second part of the trilogy. The internet has been wildly speculating dates as far as 2027, however Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini quelled those fears, saying, “Well, we’ve announced that it will be a trilogy of movies, but our partners at Aniplex and Ufotable haven’t decided on dates yet. … But look, there’s definitely urgency for all of us to bring more Demon Slayer to fans as soon as we can — because we know the urgency is there among the fanbase,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
So, when will the date be announced? Previously, the Demon Slayer franchise held onto its big announcements for only the biggest fan conventions, so keep your eye out for the upcoming Jump Festa on Dec. 21 for any clues. If nothing is heard there, then Anime Expo 2026 would be the convention a new announcement is made.

What is Infinity Castle 2 going to be about?
**MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD FOR BOTH THE ANIME AND MANGA!**
Demon Slayer Season 4 wraps up the Hashira Training arc, where the Demon Slayer Corps prepare for the final showdown against Muzan. The Infinity Castle Part 1 movie picks up right where the series left off, with Muzan trapping the entire Demon Slayer Corps into this dimension-bending fortress, separating them to battle his top lieutenants. The major battles that take place are:
Shinobu takes on Doma (Upper-Rank Two)
Zenitsu faces off against Kaigaku (Upper-Rank Six)
Iguro & Mitsuri fight Nakime (Upper-Rank Four)
And finally the climatic battle of the team-up between Tanjiro and Giyu Tomioka against Akaza (Upper-Rank Three).
With these matches out of the way or started, we can speculate that the second movie will move on to the following main battles, based on the beats of the manga:
Sanemi Shinazugawa & Gyomei Himejima vs. Kokushibo: The Wind and Stone Hashira, the two strongest combatants in the corps, face the Upper-Rank One demon, Kokushibo, who is revealed to be a former Demon Slayer from the Sengoku era, and also the brother of the first Breath user. In the manga, this fight involves incredible sacrifices, and also features the awakening of Gyomei’s Demon Slayer Mark. It is one of the most emotionally charged and visually striking sequences in the entire manga and will surely act as a keystone for the movie.
The Doma Battle Conclusion: Doma, having defeated Shinobu and fought off her adopted sister Kanao Tsuyuri with ease, must now face Inousuke. When the hot-headed Inosuke arrives, a startling revelation makes the battle even more meaningful than he realizes.
The final, and third, Infinity Castle movie following this will likely wrap up the aftermath of these two battles and then spend the meat of the plot on the explosive confrontation with Muzan.

Sony and Crunchyroll won’t miss an opportunity to release another Demon Slayer movie direct to theaters first before hitting streaming a few months later.
Is Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba: Infinity Castle 1 on streaming?
Like all theater hits, streaming is in the near future for Infinity Castle 1. According to Mitchel Berger, who oversees theatrical releases at Crunchyroll, “The theater is the only place you’re going to be able to see this film in 2025,” according to a Popverse interview. So while we won’t be able to see our favorite Demon Slayer Corps slashing their way across our home screens by the holidays, it looks like 2026 is the time to expect the film on streaming platforms.
