The trailer for Atlas showcases the new Jennifer Lopez sci-fi thriller. The movie, which was directed by San Andreas' Brad Peyton, features the singer and actor as Atlas Shepherd, a data analyst who finds herself on a compromised mission where she is forced to reluctantly team with artificial intelligence in order to save the world. The ensemble cast of the movie also includes Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, Mark Strong, Abraham Popoola, and Lana Parrilla.
Netflix has now unveiled the official teaser trailer for Jennifer Lopez's Atlas. Check it out below:
The trailer opens on a quiet but terrifying moment where Atlas seems to be stranded and is desperately asking "Do you copy?" After that, the world in which the movie takes place, as well as the characters surrounding Lopez's, are explored in a variety of quick, anxiety-inducing clips. The trailer ends with the setup for the plot, which sees the character on the surface of what appears to be an unknown planet, stuck in a mecha suit and begging for help.
Everything Revealed In The Atlas Trailer

So far, not many details have been released about Netflix's upcoming 2024 sci-fi movie. This new trailer is just a tease, offering a brief glimpse at the movie and not divulging much about the plot. However, it has revealed quite a few details about the project. This includes the fact that the movie will likely take after Netflix's previous streaming blockbusters, offering a large-scale world brought to life with elaborate visual effects.
The trailer also offers the best look yet at the other characters that populate the world of Atlas. They are still only small glimpses, but there is much implied in how they are presented. For instance, Brown's as-yet-unnamed character is seen indoors, possibly looking down at a computer screen. This could mean that his character is part of a command center that is attempting to rescue Shepherd.
It also seems that Atlas offers a more robust Simu Liu movie role than what he has played in the time since starring in Marvel's Shang-Chi. Though he doesn't speak during his brief appearance, his character is seen surrounded by flames and seemingly facing off against a mecha suit. If this indicates that he will be fighting Lopez's character at some point, this could mean that he is the villain of the movie, offering the actor a meaty role and allowing Netflix to continue their trend of casting Marvel heroes as villains after Chris Evans in The Gray Man.
