The trailer has been released for Unstoppable. Unstoppable is a based-on-a-true story sports drama set to be released on Prime Video. It chronicles the tale of a wrestler named Anthony Robles who was born with one leg and who, despite his disability, went on to win a national wrestling championship in 2011 when he was competing at Arizona State University (ASU). Unstoppable is directed by William Goldenberg and written by Eric Champnella, John Hindman, and Alex Harris. It features a leading cast including Jennifer Lopez, Bobby Cannavale, Shawn Hatosy, Michael Peña, Don Cheadle, Jharrel Jerome, Mykelti Williamson, and Melissa Diaz.
Now, Prime Video has released a trailer for Unstoppable. The trailer first introduces Anthony, who explains that people only look at "what's missing" when they see him. A montage then shows a series of Anthony's wins in wrestling, and reveals his hopes to play the sport at the collegiate level. At first, the protagonist is only offered a spot at Drexel. He has big dreams to wrestle at ASU, and ends up trying out for the team as a walk-on. The trailer then unfolds a series of dramatic scenes that show a look at the tension in Anthony's home life.
What This Trailer Means For Unstoppable
Unstoppable Could Revive Jennifer Lopez's Rotten Tomatoes Record

The Unstoppable trailer gives a good look at Lopez in her role as Anthony's mother, Judy. Lopez has a mixed track record when it comes to Rotten Tomatoes scores. Her recent movies Atlas, The Mother, and Shotgun Wedding, for instance, all received rotten scores on the critics' aggregate platform. After its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), however, Unstoppable's reviews have been positive, receiving a 74% score among 27 critics. Several of these critics praised Lopez's performance in this role specifically.
The trailer then reveals the range of emotions that Lopez will have to portray in Unstoppable. On the one hand, she is her son's biggest cheerleader and supporter. On the other hand, her fierce advocacy for Anthony forces her into some harsh confrontations. It looks like said run-ins will relate both to her public and home life. As Unstoppable releases on Prime Video on January 16, 2025, it will be interesting to see how these tensions manifest.

Our Take On The Unstoppable Trailer
Its Main Star Is Also An Exciting Cast Member

While Lopez is the big name draw to the film, I am even more excited to see Jerome in a leading role. The actor broke out in Hollywood when he played 16-year-old Kevin in the Best Picture winning film Moonlight. The actor has gotten several roles since Moonlight, but is still on the rise in his career. As Unstoppable releases early next year, it will be fascinating to see Jerome build upon his existing penchant for great drama.
