Jennifer Lawrence has been a focal point of the fashion crowd for years now, and even though she is not in the running this year for her own Oscar, that hasn't stopped her for being a nominee for best dressed on the red carpet.

The actress has enjoyed a long a fruitful relationship with the house of Dior for many years now, so it's no surprise that she opted for a Maria Grazia Chiuri creation to attend the 96th Academy Awards, where she will present.

She chose a Dior gown from the maison's spring/summer '24 haute couture collection. A strapless black gown covered in ivory polkadots with a matching stole which appeared on the runway as the closing look (look 59).

The dress reportedly took an eye-watering 1,500 hours to make, created from silk moiré which involves pressing wet layers of fabric together under heat to mimc a rippling effect.

For many, prints feel like a bold choice for a red carpet of the Oscars calibre, but stars like Lawrence and Zendaya (wearing Armani Privé) have shown how well it can work when makeup, hair and accessories are kept simple and chic. Lawrence accessorised with a simple diamond tennis necklace and bracelet which works perfectly.
