Almost from the moment that The Bold and the Beautiful introduced Luna Nozawa, a singular question has hung above her head: Who’s your daddy? Finally, in the March 3 episode, she learned that cousin Finn Finnegan is actually her father. How does she even begin to absorb this shock?
“Initially, I think Luna’s brain is completely scrambled,” Lisa Yamada tells Soaps.com. “She’s juggling so many complex thoughts and emotions. She’s realizing that someone she’s known as her cousin her whole life is now standing in front of her as her father. On top of that, she’s having to come to terms with the fact that she killed two people for no good reason. Finn is such a good guy, and she’s stuck thinking about the could-have-beens.
“But the reality is,” she continues, “she’s a killer who’s burned every bridge in her life. I think it’s going to take her a while to fully process all of this information. She is a bit stubborn, though, so I’m sure she’ll find a way to try and mend things.”
With Finn, that is, she’ll try and mend things — and good luck with that, given that Luna caged his wife Steffy and planned to make her another casualty of her mad plot to keep Bill Spencer as her Daddy Warbucks. But with a certain someone else? Forget about making amends. “Luna wasn’t really sympathetic toward Poppy to begin with, so I don’t think she’s going to start now,” Yamada admits. “I think she’s seething. Luna’s been robbed of a proper childhood and a relationship with her father — things she doesn’t take lightly. For her, wondering who her father was has been the central question of her life, and finding out it’s been Finn all along is a huge shock.
“Especially because Finn is such a stand-up father, she sees everything she’s missed out on,” she adds. “She knows how devoted he is to Hayes and Kelly, and it only makes the sting that much worse. If Poppy and Luna’s relationship wasn’t already completely messed up, it definitely is now.”
