All hell broke loose on Bold & Beautiful when Carter staged a coup to give his newly minted girlfriend both hope for the future and Hope For the Future. And now that he’s chosen Brooke to be Forrester Creations’ new CEO, it’s going to be even weirder if the show continues to have a certain character sit on the sidelines while literally all of his relatives duke it out.
Yep, we’re talking about “Bridge’s” son, R.J.
And we’ll grant you that Brooke and Ridge’s son has never struck us as one of history’s great thinkers. (See also: Dr. Finn.) But there’s no way that the social-media influencer-turned-Tom Ford wannabe wouldn’t have opinions about what half sister Hope and her latest beau have done to his beloved grandpa’s company — and by extension to Eric himself.
Maybe R.J. will be forced to enter the fray now that Mom is sitting in the boss’ seat. He should be in on the action. He should be asking Hope why she got fired in the first place. He should be asking Dad how he could be so boneheaded as to sign papers giving the company away to Carter… and asking Mom how she can plunge the knife further into Pop’s back by taking over.
Maybe the way that Ridge and Steffy have behaved toward Hope will be enough to put R.J. firmly on Team “Cope”? If so, the dialogue writes itself. “I’m sorry, Dad, but you called my sister a what?!?” “So we fire people when they sleep with significant others, Steffy? Really? When are you canning Zende for boffing Luna, then?”
What do you think? Isn’t Bold & Beautiful skipping a logical beat by leaving a character who is both a Logan and a Forrester out of the fracas?
