They say that when a door closes, a window opens — and if The Bold and the Beautiful has Carter look through it, he may well see a clear path to The Young and the Restless. Sure, he’s king of the mountain right now, having taken over Forrester Creations, but when the dust settles, he’s not just going to be out of a job, he’s going to be way out. And that’s where opportunity lies.

Bold & Beautiful alum Sally, what with having her finger on the pulse of the fashion industry, would certainly hear about it when the Forresters re-seize control of their company, re-cancel Hope For the Future and re-fire Carter and Hope. Seeing the potential in an established brand, despite the fact that it’s been struggling lately, Sally could reach out to Hope and Carter with an eye on annexing HFTF — and them — to Marchetti.
The move would appeal to the couple on two levels. 1. It would give them a chance to prove that HFTF actually deserves a future. And 2. Carter and Hope could jump-start the fashion wars to strike back at Ridge and Steffy. What’s more, the lovers could further upend Forrester Creations by taking with them PR exec Katie, designer Zende and intern Will.

For Katie, that would mean that she doesn’t have to run every idea by ex-fiancé Ridge and his daughter. For Zende, that would mean no longer being compared to Thomas or golden boy R.J. And for Will, that would mean that to see Electra, he’d have to do more than just show up at work.
Earth-Shaking Side Effects
Once these Bold & Beautiful and Young & Restless characters started crossing back and forth on the regular, a whole new plethora of story possibilities would open up. Katie could finally break the cycle of getting together and then breaking up with on-again/off-again husband Bill. Maybe she could meet a man who has never been in love with her sister, Brooke. Newly single Chance perhaps? Unlucky-in-love Nick?
On second thought, it would probably be too weird seeing Heather Tom and Joshua Morrow, who for years played the Newman siblings, suddenly playing lovers!

Zende, who despite being handsome and rich has an entirely clear dance card, could date a swath through Genoa City, living up to his playboy potential by hooking up with Lily, Summer and Elena while flirting with Claire, too, just for the fun of getting under Kyle’s skin. And Will could find himself the object of Lucy’s affections… which could quickly curdle into obsession.
Back Where It All Started
For Sally, the crossovers would be… challenging, as she’d have to face her checkered past on Bold & Beautiful. But in looking at how far she’s come, she might start to appreciate that she is no longer the desperate, grasping wannabe she once was. She’s got it going on!
This new Sally, Liam would have no choice but to observe, is the complete package. But would he pursue her… or pick up where he left off with Ivy? Would Wyatt reenter the picture and reveal that he finally dumped Flo to give Sally another shot? And if either of them did, would Sally want to reopen old wounds to see where it might lead them? Or would she elect to follow through on the relationship she’s begun with Billy?
