In Forrester’s design office, Hope doesn’t like Steffy implying that her mother isn’t up to the task of running the company. Steffy responds that’s not what she’s saying, only that Brooke has paid a high price for Hope’s actions. Her father and grandfather are basically banished from their own company. Hope urges her to just accept that this is the future of Forrester. She’ll see that at the launch of the jewelry line today. She’ll be celebrating in the arms of the man she loves.
In the main office, Brooke tells Carter she can see this is weighing on him. He protests that the Forrester fired Hope and sidelined all of them. Ridge discounted his ideas. Brooke denies that’s the case. He always valued him and his friendship. Carter swallows, “I valued his.” Brooke says it’s Valentine’s Day, and they’re without the person that they love.
At the Forrester mansion, Ridge and Taylor canoodle and talk about finding their way back to each other before sharing a kiss. Eric wanders in and suggests they sit and watch the jewelry line drop; it’s bound to be a success. Ridge says the success will be his dad’s. Eric grumbles that they won’t get any credit after being ousted from their own company.
Finn Wrestles With His Problem
In his office, Finn fires off a text to Steffy apologizing for having to work such a long shift on Valentine’s Day and saying he loves her. After, he mutters, “How do I tell you Luna’s my daughter?”
At the Forrester mansion, Steffy and Daphne have joined the others to watch the jewelry line drop. Steffy gets Finn’s text message and replies, “Happy Valentine’s Day” with a heart emoji. She pauses and looks thoughtful.
Ivy and Electra’s Line Is a Success
In Forrester’s main office, Electra gives Carter the custom piece he requested for Valentine’s Day. Carter tells her it’s exquisite and that Hope will love it. Opening the desk drawer to hide it, Carter spots Eric’s stapler and pauses, frowning. Hope, meanwhile, makes a speech welcoming everyone to the Carter Walton era of Forrester Creations.
Katie tells everyone the numbers are looking good and doles out instructions to the employees. Will tells Electra she’s about to be an overnight success. Brooke and Hope gush about the line, and Carter tells Electra she and Ivy have created a stunning line worthy of the label. Hope marvels that the orders keep coming in. “This is what the future of Forrester Creations looks like.” She gives Carter credit. Zende says Eric and Ridge signed off on the jewelry line too. Hope replies that Carter had the vision… and this is only the beginning. Brooke gives Carter the hairy eyeball.
At the Forrester mansion, Ridge and Eric think the jewelry line appears to be a big success. Taylor agrees. Steffy says they put the pieces in place and now Hope and Carter get to reap the rewards. Ridge grunts, “Brooke too,” and remarks on her betraying them.
At Forrester, Brooke congratulates Katie on her hard work and Zende tells Electra she should be proud of herself for representing their family name, “It’s important to remember.” Hope calls for a celebration with champagne and makes a speech about the future never looking more bright or fair. She kisses Carter as everyone exchanges awkward glances. Brooke stares daggers at Carter.
Charlie comes in with a huge bouquet from the International office. He senses an awkward vibe in the room. Electra gets a text from Ridge telling her she makes the family proud. Hope asks for a few moments alone with Carter, so Charlie ushers everyone out and closes the door. Hope asks her boyfriend, “What is going on?!” They did it! “It’s happening!” Carter says, “It’s a Forrester without Eric, Steffy and Ridge.”
In his office, Finn looks at a photo of him and Luna together and flashes to freeing Steffy from the cage. “First Sheila tried to kill you and now Luna. My daughter. You need to know, Steffy. You need to know.”
Will and Electra Celebrate Their Love
At Forrester, in the wardrobe area, Will tells Electra she deserves her success. Pointing out that it’s Valentine’s Day, he produces a teddy bear and red roses. They kiss.
Dark Clouds Form at Forrester Creations
In the design office, Katie, Brooke and Zende discuss Carter not being excited about the line’s success. Katie wonders what’s going on. Brooke thinks he misses his best friend. She knows she misses Ridge.
In the main office, Carter tells Hope this doesn’t feel right with the Forresters not being part of this success. Hope urges him not to let this cloud over his accomplishments. He did this. He dared to dream big, and it succeeded. “Allow yourself to celebrate that.” Carter agrees that they righted the ship and proved that they can lead. “Maybe this is our chance to go out on top.” Hope frowns, confused.
In Finn’s office, he sighs and calls Steffy.

At the Forrester mansion, Steffy takes Finn’s call. He says he’s stuck at the hospital and doesn’t know when or if he’ll be home. She reassures him. He really does need to talk to her. She says she loves him, and he returns the sentiment. “I’ll see you when I get home.” Steffy disconnects and Taylor explains that Ridge went for a walk. He’s processing a loss. Steffy is sure Carter will realize he made a mistake. When he does, they will get their company back and rid it of the Logans once and for all.

Heartbreak and a Surprise Visitor
In the main office, Carter wants to celebrate with Hope, but it doesn’t feel right. He tricked them. It was underhanded. If they go to Ridge, show him the books and the projections, “If we apologize…” Hope gawps, “Apologize?! You want us to apologize. You want me to apologize to Ridge and Steffy after everything they’ve done to humiliate me, to insult me? Carter, no. No.” Carter pulls out Eric’s stapler. “This is Eric’s stapler. This is his office. His desk, his chair, it’s not mine. I feel… I feel like… like a traitor. Because I am.” Hope tells him to stop it. He is no such thing. What he did was heroic. Carter shakes his head. There is nothing heroic about what he did. He doesn’t think he can go on like this. “I don’t think I can live with myself.” Carter tells Hope they’ve proven themselves, it’s time to make this right. Hope can’t believe he’s asking this of her. She erupts, “After you said you had my back! You said you would stand by me!”
Carter protests, “I am by your side. I love you!” He doesn’t want to fight with her on Valentine’s Day. He pulls out the necklace, but she says it’s not the time for that. “I can’t go back to the way things were. We can’t go back to the way things were. I can’t…” With that, she leaves the office in tears. Crying, Carter takes the necklace out of its box and paces around holding it. Fuming, he pounds on the desk and shatters the gemstone heart into pieces. Suddenly, Ridge appears. “Heavy is the head that wears the crown, huh Carter?”
