A Supernatural reunion is more than likely given the popularity of two of CBS' best shows. The thrilling drama was on air for 15 years before it released its series finale in 2020. Despite its ending, Supernatural remains one of the most popular TV shows, a result of its ingenuity in mixing horror, drama, and comedy together while also portraying excellent cast chemistry and relatable characters. Supernatural has also deserved its spot as one of the most unforgettable series with its massive impact on modern pop culture.
Despite Dean and Sam Winchester's seemingly conclusive send-off, talks and rumors about another Supernatural season have never ended. Both Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, have spoken out about their interest in continuing Supernatural for season 16 and beyond. The Supernatural cast is more than interested in renewing the show, but it's worth noting that no official talks about the matter have been made. That said, its two lead stars can share the screen again on a dream CBS crossover.
Tracker & Fire Country Can Reunite Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles On The Small Screen
Padalecki & Ackles Both Play Important Roles on CBS Shows
Years after appearing side-by-side on Supernatural, Padalecki and Ackles can reunite on screen via the roles they play on CBS shows. Padalecki plays Camden Casey in Fire Country while Ackles plays Russell Shaw in Tracker. While both shows have their niche that is widely different from the genres and narratives of Supernatural, seeing the actors work together again in a reunion crossover would be as exciting for CBS as it would be for the stars.
Jensen Ackles' Russell first appeared as a minor character in Tracker season 1 as Colter's older brother. Characteristically, he does not hold many similarities to Dean, but Russell is also the older brother to someone who searches for the missing, which plays a slight homage to Supernatural. Padalecki's Camden has appeared less on CBS, as he was only introduced as a training captain in Fire Country season 3. Even though Padalecki and Ackles' new characters are significantly different from Sam and Dean, any interaction in their new roles would highlight the incredible chemistry between the actors.
Why Fire Country's Camden & Tracker's Russell Shaw Can Be A Fun Duo
Their Personalities And Family History Could Make Them A Likely Duo
Camden and Russell could be a fun duo through their different personalities. They are both confident in what they want, but they do things differently to achieve their desires. When Camden joined Fire Country, he took to Bode and has since tried to nurture Bode's courage and bravery. Russell is different. He has less of a leadership role, but he still maintains that he believes he knows what is best and tries to help Colter with his cases in any way that he can. Russell and Camden's differing personalities could clash in an amusing way in a CBS crossover.
Besides their different characteristics, Camden and Russell do share some similarities which would make any interaction between them interesting as well as amusing. In their respective shows, both Russell and Camden deal with some unresolved family issues as well. Camden lost his younger brother in a fire that he feels responsible for, while Russell has a tense and estranged relationship with his brother. In a crossover, the two characters could develop a trusting bond given their family experiences if the crossover is fleshed out enough.
How CBS Can Stage A Tracker & Fire Country Crossover
A Crossover Could See One Team Traveling Toward The Other
As both Tracker and Fire Country are procedural shows, there is a chance that CBS could work out a crossover that highlights both shows. One way would be to show Colter and Russell traveling to California to investigate an elaborate missing persons case. Their case could then intersect with a fire that is actively being put out by the Fire Country cast, which would establish a crossover between the two shows. A crossover could also see the Fire Country team traveling across the country to help during wildfire season and interact with Colter and Russell that way.
Tracker's Colter often travels to investigate his cases, so an investigation that leads him to Fire Country's location in California is not out of the question. Having Colter and his brother travel is also the most believable narrative for a crossover, seeing as the two shows have vastly different focuses. Tracker also has fewer protagonists, whereas Fire Country has more. A Tracker and Fire Country crossover would mix up the shows' tones and genres in an exciting combination. A crossover would also be a great way for Padalecki and Ackles to have a Supernatural reunion.
