Popular children’s content creator Rachel Griffin Accurso, known online as Ms. Rachel, may be on the screens of little ones everywhere, but that doesn’t mean they always recognize her.
In a new Instagram post, Accurso recounted a recent interaction with a young fan that didn’t exactly go the way she planned.
“So I’m on a plane, and a see a toddler is watching Ms. Rachel on the iPad,” Accurso said in the video. “So I thought ‘I’m gonna make their day,’ so I snuck up and I looked at what the moment was, and I joined in singing at the exact moment.”
However, the toddler was not so impressed with Accurso joining in on their iPad time.
“This toddler turns around and they were like ‘why is this tired mom with a mom bun and leggings interrupting my Ms. Rachel?'” Accurso continued in the video. “The parents were really happy and it was really cute.”
Accurso’s YouTube content is designed for toddlers and preschoolers, with a focus on speech development, early learning, and music-based education. The easy, free availability of her content on YouTube makes it a big hit with parents of all income levels, from big celebrities to those struggling to make ends meet.
“The kids don’t always care when I see them in the wild cause I’m not in my uniform,” she clarified in the caption of the post, followed by a laughing emoji. “But I always love meeting them.”
Accurso’s mom fans filled the comments, expressing that even if their kids didn’t recognize her, they would love to meet her.
“I would genuinely fan girl if I met you, wayyyy more than my son would react,” one fan commented. “Ms Rachel is for the parents!!!!”
“I love that you love bringing joy to children’s lives even when you’re not working,” another fan added.
