Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson welcomed their first child together until 2021, but the Saturday Night Live star had an idea of what she would be like as a mother beforehand, thanks to watching her raise her 9-year-old daughter Rose.
"I think part of the reason I fell in love with her is she’s a great mom," Jost said in a rare comment during an interview with The New York Times. "I've known Rose, my stepdaughter, since she was 2. It’s weird. You get to actually preview someone as a mom."

Johansson also spoke of her daughter recently while promoting her upcoming movie, Fly Me to The Moon. The Marvel star revealed that Rose doesn't like watching her as Black Widow. “She likes that I play Black Widow, but she's too scared to watch an Avengers movie,” she told People. “She's just like, ‘It's violent.’ I'm like, ‘Oh God.’”
As for how Rose feels about Fly Me to The Moon, Johansson said, "I think she's excited about the hair and makeup mostly. It's just so fun…She's girly."

Johansson also spoke about Rose in her March 2022 interview with InStyle, and explained that at the time, her daughter was in the questioning phase. "'Why are you tweezing your eyebrows? Why are you curling your lashes? What’s a tampon? What’s it for?'" she recalled.
“She asked me why my underwear went up my butt crack, and I had to try to explain what a panty line was,” the actress continued. “I was like, 'Cause you don’t want a line in your pants,’ and she was like ‘Why?’ And I was like, ’Cause then you could see my underwear,’ and she was like ‘But you are wearing underwear.’ Like I know, it’s weird.”
