‘FBI: International’ Winter Finale Leaves One Fly Team Member In Critical Condition

FBI: International sure just made the next month and a half feel even longer. The CBS procedural really shook things up in its midseason finale, but not in a good way, as Agent Cameron Vo (Vinessa Vidotto) is now lying nearly dead after a gunshot wound to the clavicle. Her collar bone is fractured, a major vein was hit, and she went into shock during surgery. She's still alive, technically, but things are not looking good.

Meanwhile, as Cam's life hangs in the balance, Wes (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Tyler (Jay Hayden) are about to go rogue to track down everyone's new worst enemy: Greg Csonka. He was the guy responsible for the death of Wes's partner back at the beginning of the season, and he returned this week for what was supposed to be his trial. After Csonka killed the star witness, the trial became a disaster full of personal attacks against Wes as a way to get the case thrown out.

Eventually, it seemed as if they had caught him. They had taken a laptop from the relative who was handling all of Csonka's finances, which led to a deal of 30 years in Hungarian prison. Wes had no issue with the punishment, though he should have known that a guy like Csonka is always going to have a plan–or several.

On the way to Csonka's new prison, a large truck rammed into the police escort while the driver began shooting. The team had to then chase Csonka down after he escaped in a car, and they thought they had him cornered to the point that it almost seemed like Wes would deliver the killing shot. Instead, an unseen sniper hit Cam, and all hell broke loose.

This was far from a routine hit from a day in the field, as Cam immediately looked like she was at death's door. Wes sent all the law enforcement he could find after Csonka, but it wasn't enough. It seems the criminal had escaped in a little plane, leaving behind a note with a simple message: "You'll never see it coming."

Cam was transported to the hospital, and the team was later informed her conditions were far from ideal. Wes then turned to Tyler and asked if he was really willing to do whatever was needed to catch Csonka. Given the way they whispered away from the rest of the team, it seems as if the pair are willing to try whatever it takes to get their man, even if it means going outside the law

We'll have to wait until January 28 to find out what Wes' plan is, if Cam will survive, and if she would even be able to go back to the team after a hit like that. In any case, the prognosis isn't good!

FBI: International returns Tuesday, Jan. 28 on CBS.
