‘Fire Country’ Star Max Thieriot on Jelly Roll’s Appearance: “Come in with an open mind”

Fire Country fans, it's almost time for Jelly Roll's long-awaited guest star appearance.

The hit CBS drama is in the middle of airing season 3, and viewers were ecstatic to learn the country superstar would make an appearance on the show. Ahead of Jelly Roll's episode airing on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 9 p.m. ETFire Country's social team decided they'd give folks a first look at how the singer fits into the world of Edgewater on Instagram. And if that wasn't enough, the show revealed Jelly Roll's new single "Dreams Don't Die" will debut as part of the episode soundtrack for his guest spot.

"🚨This is not a drill. 🚨," the caption read on April 1. "Jason @JellyRoll615 DeFord is guest-starring in #FireCountry on 4/11 and his new song 'Dreams Don’t Die' will debut that very same day! 🔥 Y’all excited?"

Given how Jelly Roll has a legion of fans supporting his latest venture, it came as no surprise that they were excited about seeing him try something new on TV.

"OMG!!!!! THIS ONE WILL BE AWESOME!!!" one person exclaimed in the comments. "Can't wait to see my favorite singer on my favorite show… You rock Jelly Roll.👏👏🔥🔥❤️❤️," another declared. "This show continues to bring the thrills and anticipation in every episode!🔥🔥," a different follower added.

Well, we're certainly excited about seeing Jelly Roll on Fire Country! As for what viewers can expect, an official press release revealed the episode (titled "Fire and Ice") will see Cal Fire respond to a ski accident amid a chair lift malfunctioning on a mountain. Elsewhere, folks will see Vince Leone (Billy Burke) attempt to connect with his father Walter (Jeff Fahey) — and he finds some insight from none other than Jelly Roll's character.

So, how does the Fire Country cast feel about Jelly Roll coming onto the show? As Max Thieriot (who plays Bode Leone) exclusively told Good Housekeeping, viewers should prepare to be surprised by the singer's storyline.

"I think fans should come in not knowing what to expect and with an open mind," Max told us. "While he's telling a story of someone who's gone through some difficult things in their personal life, his character will really leave a big impact on Vince."

"I think the obvious choice would have been for Jelly Roll to come in and be an inmate in the fire camp," he continued. "But he was really excited to do something different, and he did a great job. He's super talented, came in with a lot of passion and energy and he was a real joy to be around and work with."

Well, this TV collab can't come soon enough!
