JENNIFER LAWRENCE BLASTS HOLLYWOOD FOR CALLING HER ‘TOO UGLY’ TO PLAY SHARON TATE IN TARANTINO FLICK

OSCAR WINNER REJECTED FOR HER LOOKS?

Jennifer Lawrence is an Academy Award winner and one of the highest-paid actresses on the planet, but apparently, even she isn’t safe from Hollywood’s brutal beauty standards. In a shocking confession that has the internet buzzing, the Hunger Games star revealed she was kicked to the curb during the casting of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood because the powers that be decided she was simply “not pretty enough.”

The A-lister spilled the tea during a candid chat on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast on Monday, January . While discussing the legendary director, Lawrence dropped the bombshell that Tarantino actually wanted her for the blockbuster. But there was a massive roadblock standing in her way: public perception of her face.

“Well, he did [want to cast me], and then everybody was like, ‘She’s not pretty enough to play Sharon Tate,'” Lawrence claimed, exposing the superficial rot inside the industry. “And then they didn’t.”

When the host tried to push back, suggesting that nobody in their right mind would call Jennifer Lawrence unattractive, the actress doubled down. She insisted that the narrative was either true or the internet had gaslit her into believing it. “I’m pretty sure that happened,” she fired back. “Or he just never was considering me for the part and the internet just went out of their way to call me ugly.”

THE SISTER’S BRUTAL DISS RESURFACES

Lawrence isn’t just being paranoid. The receipts exist, and they are ugly. Back when casting rumors for the role of the slain actress Sharon Tate were swirling in , Tate’s own sister, Debra Tate, went public with a scathing takedown of Lawrence’s looks.

In a savage interview with TMZ at the time, Debra didn’t mince words. She explicitly stated, “She’s not pretty enough to play Sharon.” Talk about a dagger to the heart. Debra made it clear she wanted Margot Robbie for the role, citing Robbie’s “physical beauty” as the deciding factor.

“My pick would be Margot simply because of her physical beauty and even the way she carries herself is similar to Sharon.”

It seems Lawrence heard those comments loud and clear. While Hollywood agents usually hide the real reasons for rejection, Debra Tate shouted it from the rooftops. Lawrence losing the role to Robbie, who eventually played Tate to critical acclaim, clearly left a scar that hasn’t fully healed.

TARANTINO’S CONTRADICTING STORY

Here is where the story gets messy. While Lawrence remembers being up for the glam role of Sharon Tate, Quentin Tarantino tells a very different version of events. The director previously admitted he met with Lawrence, but not to play the beauty queen victim. He wanted her to play a Manson family murderer.

In a interview, Tarantino claimed he eyed JLaw for the role of Squeaky Fromme, a devout follower of cult leader Charles Manson. “I investigated the idea of Jennifer Lawrence playing Squeaky,” Tarantino revealed. He even had her come to his house to read the script by his pool.

So, was Lawrence actually rejected for being “too ugly” to play Tate, or was she just not the right fit to play a crazed cultist? The role of Squeaky eventually went to Dakota Fanning, whom Tarantino praised for delivering “one of the best performances in the movie.” It seems wires got crossed somewhere between the pool house and the casting office, but Lawrence remains convinced her looks played a role in the snub.

THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY

This isn’t the first time Lawrence and Tarantino have danced around each other without making magic. Lawrence admitted she made a massive career fumble by turning down a role in Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight. She was offered the part of the feral, unhinged Daisy Domergue, a role that eventually earned Jennifer Jason Leigh an Oscar nomination.

“I turned it down, which I should not have done,” Lawrence confessed, clearly regretting the decision to pass on working with the auteur. Between being “too ugly” for one movie and too busy for another, the collaboration between the biggest actress and the biggest director of their generation seems cursed.

CLIFFHANGER: WILL JLAW EVER GET HER REVENGE?

With Tarantino threatening to retire after his next film, the window for a Lawrence-Tarantino team-up is closing fast. Lawrence has proven she can do gritty, she can do glam, and she can handle rejection. But will she get one last shot to prove the haters—and Sharon Tate’s sister—wrong? Or will she go down in history as the star who was “not pretty enough” for the Tarantino universe? Hollywood is watching.
