Critics were quick to liken the look to the powdered periwigs worn by America’s Founding Fathers such as Thomas Jefferson and John Adams.

The relentless trolls also drew comparisons between her hairstyle and objects like a picnic basket, and some even drew parallels to fictional characters including Elsa from Frozen and Queen Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones.
The stunner, however, found many fans in support of her look, with one saying, 'This is actually so cool. I need a tutorial of this.'
Another shared, 'Wooow so unique! Loved it,' as yet another follower gave a shout out to her longtime hairstylist Chris Appleton, writing, 'Whoa love this Chris. seriously beautiful my dear.'
This isn't the first time Kim has faced backlash for her braids.
In 2020, she was accused of cultural appropriation after she sported a tight braided hairdo at her then-husband Kanye West's Paris Fashion Week show.

Yet, a number of her followers rushed to defend her at the time, and claimed fans were making a big deal out of a playful post.
