One minute Luna’s expressing remorse, and the next she’s grinning devilishly as she eavesdrops on conversations in Bill’s home. It’s all become a little confusing for Bold & Beautiful viewers who are developing a case of mental whiplash. Is the double-murderer sorry for what she did… or is she preying on Bill while his defenses are down? Perhaps Lisa Yamada, who plays Poppy’s daughter on the soap, can shed some light on her character’s motivations… or can she?
There wasn’t an ounce of remorse in sight when Luna framed her mother for two murders and let her go to jail for the crimes. She didn’t blink an eye when a caged Steffy begged and pleaded with her not to leave her children motherless. When Bill showed up to visit Luna in prison and she was black and blue, Bold & Beautiful fans were certain the beating was all her own doing… a means of making the lonely rich guy feel sorry for her to the point that he was convinced to get her released on house arrest.
Since Luna’s been in Bill’s home, things have taken a turn with the murderess, however. She’s begun to express remorse for her crimes and, more recently, has seemingly reacted with pain and regret upon overhearing people refer to her as a dangerous psycho who belongs behind bars for the rest of her life. Tears have been shed.
And yet… we’ve also witnessed the character grinning evilly as she lurks and listens… and at different points it appeared Luna was setting her sights on Bill’s son, Will, which sent a chill down our spines.
So, which is it? Were the horrific acts she committed an “out of body” experience that she now deeply regrets as she claims, or is she “playing the victim” for Bill’s benefit and still plotting? In a recent chat with SOD, Yamada wasn’t exactly able to clear that up, explaining that “depending on the day” she plays it either way.
One thing the actress did confirm, which we kinda loved to hear, is that “there’s a little bit of crazy to [Luna] still.” Given that recent reveals have pegged her as Sheila Carter’s granddaughter, we wouldn’t expect anything less!
While we’re not sure how Bold & Beautiful could redeem this character considering the severity of her transgressions, we have no doubt that Bradley Bell & Co. will find a way to make it happen, if only to free her crazy again. After all, no one could have foreseen Sheila happily cooking Deacon’s spaghetti sauce on the daily, but here we are!
