As the wildfires continue to rage in the greater Los Angeles area, California residents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are doing what they can to help.
T&C can confirm that they have made donations to relief efforts through their Archewell Foundation, and have donated clothing, children’s items, and other essential supplies to those affected by the fires. In addition, they have opened their Montecito home to loved ones who were forced to evacuate due to the blaze.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are also working with their foundation to identify the most impactful ways to support the community right now. T&C also understands that Harry and Meghan have been in contact with José Andrés and are working alongside World Central Kitchen to help with relief efforts.
Earlier today, the Sussexes shared on their website ways to help those impacted by the fires. “If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do. And be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbors to see if they need help evacuating,” the statement read. “Some families and people have been left with nothing. Please consider donating clothing, children’s toys & clothing, and other essentials. The American Red Cross is on the ground helping those in need.”
They directed people to support organizations including the World Central Kitchen, CAL FIRE, LA Fire Department Foundation, Animal Wellness Foundation, Compton Cowboys, and Baby2baby.
