The Batman – Part II might feature one of the big Avengers stars in Matt Reeves' upcoming DC sequel. The Batman universe is set to continue, with Robert Pattinson bringing his version of the Dark Knight back to the big screen.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran would first shoot The Exorcist before moving on to The Batman – Part II, which is scheduled to begin principal photography in 2026. However, with her addition, the sequel is reportedly not going to feature Zoë Kravitz's Catwoman, according to Variety. However, that has yet to be confirmed by Reeves, DC Studios, and Warner Bros.

At the time of this article's publication, it's unknown who Johansson would play in Reeves' upcoming entry. But given the secrecy surrounding her role, it would make sense for it to be a DC character.

The Batman – Part II cast will feature players like Colin Farrell's Penguin, Andy Serkis' Alfred Pennyworth, and Jeffrey Wright's Jim Gordon. According to Reeves, in an interview with Variety in September 2025, the sequel will take Bruce Wayne to places audience members haven't seen before:

While The Batman – Part II story is unknown, it will take place shortly after the events of The Penguin TV show. Reeves' franchise, which remains part of DC Studios' Elseworlds banner, will be one of two major DC superhero films in 2027, as James Gunn's Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to debut on July 9.

With the film's setting being during the winter, many theories have circulated that Mr. Freeze may be the primary antagonist for the project. James Gunn has previously debunked that villains like Hush will be featured in Reeves' second installment.

The Batman – Part II is slated to open in theaters on October 1, 2027.
