Scarlett Johansson marries fiancé Colin Jost in ‘intimate’ ceremony – and announce nuptials through charity Instagram post

Scarlett Johansson has married her fiancé Colin Jost in an “intimate” ceremony.

The couple tied the knot at the weekend and decided to support one of their favourite charities by sharing the news via its social media.

Meals on Wheels, which helps feed elderly people across the US, announced the news on its Instagram account.

The charity said: “We're thrilled to break the news that Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were married over the weekend in an intimate ceremony with their immediate family and loved ones”.

It added that the couple followed COVID-19 safety precautions and said their “wedding wish” was to help the charity and urged fans to donate.

The charity also posted a photograph of the Staten Island Ferry in New York with cans tied to the end and the words "Jost Married".

The 35-year-old actress started dating Jost, 38, a writer and comedian on the sketch show Saturday Night Live, in 2017 after she made a guest appearance in the show's season finale.

The couple announced their engagement in May 2019.

It is the third marriage for Johansson – she was married to fellow actor Ryan Reynolds from 2008 until 2011 and to French journalist Romain Dauriac from 2014 until 2017.

She has a six year old daughter called Rose with Dauriac.

Johansson is one of the highest-paid actresses in the world – thanks largely to her recurring role as the Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Jost has previously admitted to being "so scared" of marriage before getting engaged to the Hollywood star.

He said: "I'm getting married and it's such a crazy thing. I was so scared of marriage for so long because every time I talked to someone who just got married, or was about to get married, is like, 'Oh my God, you got to do it … What could go wrong?' Then you talk to someone who's been married for five years, and they're like, 'Don't rush into it … you have your whole life ahead of you.”

The news of the ceremony came out the same day Johansson appeared on the cover of Marie Claire magazine in a white dress to promote Black Widow.
