Sound the Alarms ‘S.W.A.T.’ Fans, Shemar Moore Gave a Behind the Scenes Look at Season 8

S.W.A.T. season 8 is just weeks away from premiering on CBS, but who's counting down the days? Apparently Shemar Moore is, because he just dropped a look at what's to come.

The procedural drama is airing an all-new installment on Friday, October 18 at 8 p.m. ET, months after the network surprised fans by un-cancelling the show. Well, it looks like S.W.A.T. season 8 is bringing an entirely new adventure, because the Criminal Minds alum posted some Instagram photos of what's happening behind the scenes ahead of the first episode. As he posed with various cast and crew members (including David Bradley Lim and Anna Enger Ritch), he got excited about seeing Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson back on screen once again.

"@swatcbs Season 8 is well on its way baby!!! Oct 18th!!! 💪🏽👊🏽," he captioned the upload on September 12.

While Shemar was clearly ecstatic about the show coming back another round, he wasn't the only one. Folks immediately bombarded him in the comments, sharing just how thrilled they were about the update.

"Can't wait to see what happens in season 8," one person wrote. "I can't wait for season 8, love me some Shemar Moore," another exclaimed. "Can't wait !!!! Omg🔥🔥🔥 yes yes season 8 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️," a different follower added.

As viewers may remember, S.W.A.T. has gone through a revolving door of cancellations and season returns. 2023 saw the show being cancelled for season 6, only for CBS to bring it back for a final season 7 in February 2024. Just weeks later after the premiere, Shemar revealed the series would return for season 8, which fans can start watching this fall.

So, are there any clues about what to expect from S.W.A.T. season 8? An official press release shared the premiere episode will be titled "Vanished," involving a mission that has personal ties to Hondo while the team look for missing students and their bus driver. Elsewhere, Hondo is making a new addition to his 20-Squad, causing some reservations among his fellow members.

Our hearts are already pumping over what's coming next!
