Celebrity Big Brother is one of the most popular versions of the series, but a new update shed light on whether it'll be returning anytime soon. Celebrity Big Brother is basically the same as the original version of the game, except that it lasts for one month instead of three. There's also no jury house. Celebrity Big Brother season 1 premiered in February 2018, with Marissa Jaret Winokur taking home the grand prize. Season 2 debuted in January 2019, with Tamar Braxton being crowned the champion, while season 3 aired in February 2022, with Miesha Tate being voted the winner.
According to EW, the Celebrity Big Brother producers want to bring the show back, but it won't happen in 2025. When the spin-off premiered in 2018, it aired against the Winter Olympics. It came back the following year but didn't return until 2022 when it once again was offered as an alternative to the Winter Olympics. However, in a few months, it'll be three years since the show's last installment. When EW asked Celebrity Big Brother executive producer Allison Grodner when the show was coming back, she replied, "We've been saying the same thing!"
Allison explained, "If you look at it, and again, we can't speak for CBS, the history of Celebrity Big Brother has it going against the Winter Olympics." However, this wasn't the case for the 2019 season. Allison said, "That's true. We did try the back-to-back, and we've heard rumblings that [airing opposite the Olympics] might be the way that Celebrity is utilized."
Although CBS seems to want to air Celebrity Big Brother during the Winter Olympics, Allison and her fellow executive producer Rich Meehan would like to bring the series back sooner. Allison said, "We can't speak for CBS, but we agree with you. We think Celebrity is its own thing and is worthy of being on every other year or annually. It's been a lot of fun, so we're hoping to see it come back."
Rich stated that he would "love" to see Celebrity Big Brother return. Unfortunately, there are "usually much bigger things in play," like the network's schedule. "There are a lot of factors that are much bigger than Big Brother that go into that," he said, adding, "But we love doing it. It's really fun, and it would be great to do again. But sometimes we have to wait and see how many scripted shows are happening and all that stuff. There's a lot of other things that go into it." The Winter Olympics won't air until February 2026.
We can't speak for CBS, but we agree with you. We think Celebrity is its own thing and is worthy of being on every other year or annually. It's been a lot of fun, so we're hoping to see it come back.

However, there's something special about Celebrity Big Brother because it challenges the celebrity competitors in ways that they never imagined. Big Brother is a game that requires tremendous physical, mental, emotional, and social strength, and it's inspiring to watch the celebrities who take the game seriously and make it far, realize their full potential. Of course, it's also great fun to watch the crazy antics that ensue in the house as well.

Celebrity Big Brother is one of the most outrageous versions of the show, especially because it allows fans to see their favorite celebrities in a completely new environment. It's also thrilling when the celebrities end up being superfans of the show, such as when Chris Kirkpatrick and Shanna Moakler brought their incredible strategies to Celebrity Big Brother season 3. It would be so much fun to have an annual season of Celebrity Big Brother to look forward to every year. Hopefully, it'll be back before 2026.
