SWAT season 6 came to an end on May 19, 2023, but the entire season, which consisted of 22 episodes, has yet to debut on Netflix. The streaming service added the first five seasons of the CBS procedural series on May 17, 2023, just a couple of days before the season 6 finale. Since then, new viewers have discovered the show, and longtime fans have rewatched their favorite episodes, which has earned SWAT a spot on the Top 10 TV Shows in the United States list on Netflix.
CBS briefly canceled SWAT a couple of weeks before the season 6 finale. However, the network reversed its decision only a couple of days later after fans rallied around the show and campaigned for it to continue, whether that be on CBS or another network or streaming service. CBS renewed SWAT
SWAT Season 6 Will Likely Come To Netflix In Fall 2023
Netflix has yet to release a date for when SWAT season 6 will be added to the streaming service. However, the CBS series' showrunner, Shawn Ryan, promised that all 22 episodes should arrive on Netflix in the fall of 2023. Prior to the canceling/uncanceling fiasco, Ryan wrote on Twitter:
"Issuing a (hopefully) final clarification about [SWAT] and [Netflix]. LIBRARY episodes of [SWAT] will begin streaming on [Netflix] (Seasons 1-5 will stream in May, Season 6 will be added in the fall. A potential Season 7 of [SWAT] is still being negotiated with SPT and CBS."
According to Ryan, the earliest that Netflix will drop all 22 episodes of season 6 will be in September 2023. Unfortunately, that is a few months away. Where To Watch SWAT Season 6 Now
While awaiting SWAT season 6's arrival on Netflix, there are many other ways for fans to watch all 22 episodes. The most recent season is available to stream on Hulu+ Live TV, Paramount+, fuboTV, The Roku Channel, and YouTube TV. The episodes are also available to buy on Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, Vudu, Google Play, and Apple TV. Otherwise, fans will have to wait until the fall to watch SWAT season 6 on Netflix.
The good news is that the show won't end after season 6. Following the conclusion of the writers' strike (whenever that may be), the cast and crew will resume production on season 7, which will also serve as the series' last outing. They'll be able to give SWAT a proper ending and tie up every loose end.
